This session will use a health equity lens to discuss primary prevention and harm reduction strategies to reduce HIV incidence. Topics will include: an introduction to stigma and the HIV Care Continuum, safer sex product availability, sex education, PrEP and PEP, treatment as prevention (TasP) and syringe exchange programs.

Social media platforms are an effective avenue for colleges and universities to reach their students, faculty, and staff alike. These platforms are also an efficient way for institutions to keep their community informed about COVID-19 mitigation and vaccination strategies on campus. As vaccination rates among 18-24 year olds remain a challenge to achieving community immunity, colleges and universities must ensure that they are providing good and credible information to students where they are - especially online where misinformation is abundant. We will examine best practices and effective strategies in engaging campus communities using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok. Participants will be able to: • Articulate basic social media communication strategies • Compare and contrast the strengths of different social media platforms • Describe examples of high performing social media content related to COVID-19 for the general population and on college campuses A limited number of registrants may also request to participate in a small group workshop following the webinar from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. The small group workshop participants will apply the knowledge and skills from the webinar to their own social media practices, and have the opportunity to create draft social media content they can use. You may request to join a small group workshop by completing the form linked in your Webinar confirmation email. Please note that completing the Request form does not guarantee you a spot in a workshop. We will accommodate as many requests as possible. Participants will be notified by July 22, 2021 if they will be offered a spot.

Equity Series Session 2 - Building Trust and Confidence for the Long Term: How to design COVID-19 mitigation and vaccination strategies on campus responsive to the needs of marginalized communities
Join us for the second session in the HECCOP and CoVAC Equity Series. Objectives: • Campus Personnel will understand how to leverage inclusive and expansive forms of evidence with an equity-minded lens to inform mitigation and vaccination strategies. • Campus personnel will understand how to incorporate listening session results into mitigation and vaccination strategies on campus. • Campus personnel will learn the importance of including communication and practices, policies and protocols responsive to the needs and experiences of marginalized communities in building trust and confidence. • Campus personnel will be able to apply the approach of partnering with credible trusted community members to deliver credible, trustworthy messaging.

Authors of the newly released ACHA Considerations for Reopening Institutions of Higher Education for Fall Semester 2021 will provide an overview and key considerations for college health professionals and senior leader as they plan for students returning to a fully occupied campus this fall. Considerations for student health, counseling, and health promotion services as well as discussions of vaccination, testing, non-pharmaceutical interventions, residence life, athletics, recreational sports, the learning environment, student life, and visitors to campus are included.
Equity Series Session 1: Connect Before You Correct: How to Host Listening Sessions and Develop Trust to Mitigate COVID-19 and Decrease Vaccine Hesitancy in Marginalized Communities
Join us for the first session in the HECCOP and CoVAC Equity Series. In this session, the presenters will discuss the necessity of acknowledging the totality of COVID-19's disparate impact on marginalized communities and the value of listening to these communities to better understand the root causes of mistrust in the health care system and vaccine refusal. Attendees will get guidance on how they can examine their own practices and procedures - and biases and assumption - to address the needs of marginalized communities in the short- and long-term, beyond COVID-19.
