Join us for "Assessing Basic Needs: A participatory webinar on current practices." We'll explore how institutions are currently assessing basic needs insecurity among their campus communities, establish a clear definition of basic needs, and introduce the Hope Center Survey as a valuable tool. Furthermore, we will discuss the ACHA’s Basic Needs Task Force adaptation of the ACHA survey to incorporate a comprehensive assessment and inventory of basic needs. Engage in this discussion and contribute to shaping more effective support systems.

The Mapping the DNA of Integrated College Health Services Webinar Series will be a series of continuing education opportunities for ACHA members addressing the organization and delivery of integrated services (health, counseling, health promotion) on college and university campuses. Each webinar will focus on a key topic of integration such as integrated program models, culture building across professional disciplines, space design and layout, shared policies and practices, shared electronic records, and integration with campus partners. The webinar series is being sponsored by the newly formed ACHA Integrated College Health Coalition and will also include the development of a repository of evidence-informed models of integration, published articles, implementation guides, policies and practices for integrated systems, and other useful integrated college health resources.

The presentation will address both a risk management and positive ethics approach, including a brief history of multiple relationships, defining terminology, sharing real world examples, and applying an ethical decision making model to case studies.

As reflective practitioners, it’s critical to grapple with underlying frameworks that shape our understanding of student identities and experiences. One place where biases often go unchecked is in our approaches to student substance use, addiction, and recovery. This session will engage participants in a survey tool to guide a review of assumptions and beliefs that develop our professional and personal approaches to student drug use. Themes and takeaways will also be shared from implementing this tool with professionals around the country.
